Beautiful Sandy Beach With Sweeping Coves
Lindos holidays offer a great base on the east coast of Rhodes, where you will find whitewashed houses, beautiful courtyards and narrow cobbled streets making the resort one of the prettiest on the island. The resort is overflowing with culture and unspoilt nature, in the 1970's Lindos was made a designated natural heritage site. Apart from the beaches of Lindos the main focus tends to centre on the culture of the resort with narrow cobbled streets lined with courtyards from the 16th to 18th centuries, Ancient Greek Monuments including the Temple of Athina Lindia are enclosed by the medieval walls of the 14th century fortress built by the Knights of St John add to the atmosphere of this amazing resort. The ancient Acropolis Temple is perched three hundred and eighty foot on a hill above the village and has some amazing views over the resort for you to enjoy whilst on your Lindos holidays. The narrow streets of the old town are pedestrianised so exploring the resort is done on foot; however you can take a donkey ride to the top of the acropolis from the main square.
There are two beaches in the resort with the most popular being Pallas Beach. This is a beautiful sandy beach with sweeping coves and is very popular with families. The crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea offer plenty of water sports from surfing and snorkelling to pedalos and windsurfing. Pallas Beach can get very crowded during high season. You can also take boat trips from Pallas Beach. South of the town is St Pauls Beach of sand and shingle and sits in a bay enclosed by steep rocks. There are also plenty of beachside tavernas where you can get a snack during the day.
