A Fantastic Climate And Many Jaw Dropping Excursions...
Red Sea holidays offer fabulous beach fun for all the family, with crystal clear waters and soft sandy beaches, nestled on the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt. It’s the fantastic climate, world class dive sites, fabulous coral reefs and varied nightlife that makes the Red Sea such an exotic location.
With just a 5 or 6 hour flight time from the UK and 35°c temperatures in the summer months, the Red Sea is becoming more and more popular with British tourists. Its moderate climate keeps visitors flocking there over our winter months too as temperatures usually stay in the early to mid 20’s.
The miles of sandy desert and rocky mountains create a stunning backdrop to the sparkling blue waters of its international beach fronts.
Holidays in the Red Sea offer the opportunity of taking advantage of some of the most wonderful dive sites in the world, with stunning marine life and even the odd shipwreck to explore, or for the slightly less adventurous, try snorkelling, minisubs or a glass bottomed boat ride to view the underwater wonder world.
Excursions in the Red Sea resorts often revolve around the desert, with camel and horseback rides, quad biking or 4x4 adventures. A night out into a genuine Bedouin Camp can be arranged from most areas, where you’ll be treated to an evening of Egyptian cuisine, dancing round the fireside and a chance to watch the sun set over the mountains, turning the whole panorama glorious shades of red. Then lie on your back and wonder at the millions of stars dancing above you and shooting through the night sky. An experience you will never ever forget.
Many of the hotels have their own sections of beach with jetties stretching far out into the sea, so those who don’t want to dive can enjoy hours of fun snorkelling in the shallow clear blue waters, playing with the fish that dare to come so close.
Trips to Cairo Luxor or Aswan can be booked in most resorts, although this can often mean an internal flight or overnight stay, definitely worth the experience though.
Stunning Beaches, Luxurious Hotels And Great Diving...
Hurghada is one of the most popular resorts for Red Sea holidays – it is a lively resort with guest houses and luxury hotels to choose from. Diving is extremely good in this part, a trip to Giftin Island is a must for those keen to explore the marine life first hand.
El Gouna, just along the coast is a slightly more relaxed resort than its neighbour, where golf is also a popular pastime.
Marsa Alam is an excellent choice if you are looking for a nice quiet family holiday. This newly developed area is home to some luxurious hotels, once a small fishing village; you’ll still find a quaint harbour, with many bars, shops and restaurants along the seafront. Deep sea fishing is also an option here as is a trip to the marine nature reserve just to the south. Marsa Alam now has sits own international airport, keeping transfer times to a minimum.
Sharm El Sheikh, based on the southern tip of the peninsula is one of the best known resorts in the Red Sea, again you fly into its own airport and on a sunny day the miles of desert suddenly open up into the oasis that is Sharm. A fabulous family resort, with friendly bazaars, designer shopping and excellent nightlife of Naama Bay.
Taba is one of the newest resorts in the Red Sea, and still relatively quiet compared to some others. Nestling just near the border with Israel it offers mainly hotel based entertainment but with plenty of options to explore. An ideal base to visit Jordan and Petra City, swim with dolphins or climb Mount Sinai at sunrise or sunset, a view that will remain etched in your memory forever. Its neighbouring Taba Heights offers the same unrivalled options in a slightly more cosmopolitan atmosphere with a casino and golf course to enjoy.
The only difficult part about going to the Red Sea is deciding where exactly to stay! With so much to do, so many things to see and stunning beaches to lie on, you really are spoilt for choice, but one thing is for sure, the colours, sight and smells of this wondrous region will leave you wanting to come back year after year.
