Holidays in Vassilikos are all about experiencing the local, traditional cultures. There are tavernas here serving a wide variety of local delicacies and of course Ouzo, the favourite Greek drink. Fresh fish is a speciality, caught that day by the local fishermen from their boats. Nightlife in Vassilikos is low key; many of the local bars have live music and traditional Greek dancing, a far cry from the hectic clubs in Laganas.

Wander through the maze of cobbled streets in search of a bargain or sit in a pavement cafe and enjoy watching the hustle and bustle of the busy town. The ferry leaves from here taking you around the island. Visit the famous ship wreck or spend a day on the neighbouring island of Kefalonia, the set of Captain Corelli's Mandolin.
