Water sports are extremely popular on holidays in Boa Vista
Boa Vista holidays are a sun lovers paradise with endless, unspoilt sandy beaches and a climate influenced by the warm gentle breezes floating over from the Sahara desert.
The most eastern of the Cape Verde islands, Boa Vista evolves from a fascinating cultural mix of Portuguese and African influences, and is still relatively undiscovered, except perhaps, for the protected turtles that nest on its east coast beaches. The whole island is a beautiful mix of sand dunes and date palms that can easily be explored on an organised Jeep Safari, or an exhilarating horse ride.
Water sports are extremely popular on holidays in Boa Vista with windsurfing and sailing particularly good due to the warm Sahara breezes. Big game fishing is another top excursion, while Estoril and Sal Rei are two of the best beaches for snorkelling from, with Santa Monica Beach staking a claim for being one of the worlds finest.
Sal Rei is declared as the islands capital and although laid back by day, comes to life at night with calypso style music floating through the air and the all night disco for those that can keep up the pace. Sal Rei is also where you can catch a ferry to explore the other islands Cape Verde has on display.
