One of the most famous excursions is the Dalyan mudbaths, where you cover yourself in a cleansing and healing mud, then let it dry under the sun before washing it off in the 40 degree sulphur pool. It is said that your skin will be left glowing. Marmaris boasts more than one thousand restaurants serving everything from traditional Turkish cuisine, Indian, Italian, to English and Chinese dishes. The marina boasts some mouth watering fish restaurants for upmarket dining. There is something to suit every palette and price. Raki is a very popular Turkish drink and is a great accompaniment to fish. Marmaris has an abundance of nightlife whether you're looking for a relaxing evening or a wild night. There are two main bar and club areas in the resort, Uzunyali is in the waterfront area and bar street. There are plenty of bars playing live music, cocktail bars and discos offering something to suit every mood. Many of the larger hotels run Turkish and cabaret nights.

Marmaris is home to some of the best shops in Turkey with smart designer shops in Netsel Marina. The colourful bazaars are open every day until the late hours with an array of leather goods, jewellery, pottery and spices. The market is very popular with tourists and local and can get very busy. The market traders expect you to haggle for a bargain. Within the Ottoman Castle a flea market is held every week. Along the canal an outdoor market specialises in arts and crafts. There is a wealth of accommodation throughout the resort from simple self catering, bed and breakfast guest houses to luxury all inclusive hotels. There is something to suit every budget.
