Peace, Quiet And Paragliding
Ovacik holidays will find you on the south-west coast of Turkey. Backed by the lush Babadag Mountains, the village offers visitors a traditional holiday in natural surroundings. The meaning of Ovacik is "Little Plain".
There are endless pine trees encompassing the village giving the feeling of tranquillity. There are bars and restaurants in the village, all offering traditional Turkish cuisine and hospitality. Holidays in Ovacik don't have to be too laid back. Though. A short walk will take you to Hisaronu, the next village where you will find a much more varied atmosphere, international restaurants and nightlife. Here you'll see belly dancing and shows and enjoy Chinese, Indian or traditional English cuisine.
From Hisaronu, one can take a dolmus to Kaya Koy, known locally as the ghost town. A village built onto the hillside where the Greeks used to live. You can still see the remains of the houses to this day with cows grazing on the land. The town of Fethiye is a bustling harbour town only 30 minutes away from Ovacik by local bus (dolmus). Take a trip to try your hand at haggling in the bazaar and sample the fresh fish caught that day in one of the many harbour front restaurants.
