A Firm Greek Favourite With Spectacular Beaches...
Samos holidays have been a firm favourite for many, many years and it's so easy to see why with the amazing lush landscapes, spectacular beaches and Mediterranean temperature reaching 35°C in August. It is a beautiful Greek island in the North Aegean Sea lying just 2km off the Turkish Mainland and was the birthplace of the famous mathematician Pythagoras and Aesop the fable teller. The capital of this pretty island is Samos Town which is situated in the hillside at the end of a horse-shoe shaped bay, offering the most stunning views of the delightful Aegean Sea.
This town is a great combination of authentic and cosmopolitan with its trendy shops and bustling cafes alongside pretty Venetian buildings, maze of narrow cobbled streets and traditional tavernas. Samos has a working port which is great to go along and mingle with the natives, purchase the locally produced honey and ceramics and soak up the wonderful friendly atmosphere. This is the place to come for the liveliest night out in Samos although it's not over the top and full of young party goers. Evenings bring a mixture of meals in sophisticated restaurants along the waterfront, drinks in trendy bars or Greek dancing in the Bouzoukis with locals.
