George Best Belfast City Airport is a single-runway airport in Belfast. The airport handles around 2.5 million passengers every year.
The airport was formerly known as ‘Belfast City Airport’ until it was renamed in 2006 in memory of George Best the famous footballer from Belfast. With the increase in popularity of cheap flight package holidays the airport continues to flourish.

Those approaching Belfast on the M1 or M2 should follow the signs to Belfast City Airport, leading to the A2 via the M3. A shuttle bus service operates between the airport terminal and the adjacent rail halt at Sydenham. Translink operates a twice-hourly rail service on weekdays to Central and Victoria Street Stations. The Airport Express 600 operates every 20 minutes from outside the airport to the heart of the city.
