Small but packs a punch

Also known as Ronaldsway Airport, Isle of Man Airport in Manx is the main passenger airport for the island. It is one of two gateways to the island, the Isle of Man Sea Terminal is the other. There are regular scheduled flights to the rest of the UK, Ireland and Channel Islands and chartered flights also leave from here.

Destinations

Isle of Man Airport flies exclusively to other destinations in the UK so it’s great for business trips or city breaks, but also a great first point for a connecting journey to far off destinations.

As the Isle of Man’s only airport, it can get quite busy. About 780,000 people used this tiny airport last year giving the airport a lively and dynamic feeling.

At the airport

Despite its size, there are still your typical airport affair type shops available so have your money ready for toiletries, handbags, gifts and tobacco. Café Oasis offers a range of hot and cold food, for those who need their daily caffeine can relax with a coffee at Costa, or calm any pre-flight nerves with a drink in Okells Bar.

Parent and baby rooms are located in the main terminal and the departure lounge. Baby change units are also within easy reach throughout the airport.

Aviation enthusiasts can make use of the viewing area in arrivals and departures. Good views of the aircraft can be found in the arrivals hall and car park too. It’s a great airport to see smaller planes and propeller planes if you’re used to the bigger commercial jets at larger airports.

Car hire is available at the airport for arriving passengers that want the freedom of having their own mode of transport while on the island.

On the road again...

Reaching the airport is best by road. There are 10 bus routes that can take you from most towns on the island to the airport so it is really accessible by public transport. Taxis are available from outside of the terminal building and with only around an hour’s drive you can travel the length of the island.

Cosy lodges and homely hotels

The Sefton Express B&B is a cosy, quaint option for a really quick transfer to or from the airport. It is the closest hotel to Isle of Man Airport on the island but, because of its small size, hotels all over the island are very accessible, usually within an hour’s journey. The Welbeck Hotel, Ascot Hotel, and The Claremont Hotel are very popular on the island, however, with its charming architecture this friendly island is full of well-loved hotels and homely B&Bs.
