Norwich International Airport is the 29th busiest airport in the UK handling just over 400,000 passengers annually.
The first Norwich airport was set up on a former First World War areodrome. This site was no longer used from the early part of World War ll. In 1942 Norwich International Airport opened in Horsham St Faith and was made available for United States Army Air Forces. After the war was over the RAF left the site and it was developed into the airport we know today.
Norwich International Airport is situated on the A140, which travels through Ipswich providing easy road access to Norwich City Centre. Norwich International Airport does not have a train station, the nearest train station is Norwich Railway Station and is connected to the airport by a local bus service. There is also a regular bus service to and from the city centre.
