What to wear and where: your essential guide to holiday fashion

If you’ve gone and treated yourself to a last minute holiday (lucky you!) and have started to panic about not having enough time to prepare the ultimate holiday wardrobe, then you’re in luck. Today, we’re talking what to wear, where. This essential guide to holiday brought to you by holiday fashion gurus Swimwear365.co.uk.

City Chic

If it’s a cultural break you’ve booked then looking chic is oh-so important. You’ll need to strike the balance perfectly between practical and party wear – so here’s how. Keep cool in floaty chiffon blouses, skater dresses and chino shorts. Pack a few pairs of flats to see you through all the sightseeing – chunky gladiator sandals and pretty pumps are good choices here. Opt for glamorous detailing on prints to take you from day to night perfectly.

French Riveria – Nice ‘n’ Nautical

Let’s get nautical here. Sophisticatedly subtle stripes are the way forward if you’re off somewhere stylish like the French Riviera. The key is to not look as though you’ve tried too hard – team a nautical tee with fitted navy chinos and tan brogues for sleek, chic day vibe. Complete your look with an oversized floppy hat, large tote and a lashing of red lipstick – Coco would be impressed!

Moroccan – Eastern Delight

If you’re flying east for higher climes then of course you’ll want to look the part. Glamorous tribal prints in warm, rich shades of red and purple will look phenomenal with multiple gold bangles. Tunics, kaftans and harem pants will keep you cool and looking hot, whilst a good selection of maxi dresses will see you through the evenings.

British Seaside – Welly Glam

Last minute holidays don’t just apply to flying to far flung destinations. Our weather is constantly up and down so as soon as that sun starts to shine you’ll need a quick-to-assemble capsule wardrobe that incorporates both sunshine and showers in case the weather man gets it all wrong. We say, stick to some fabulous fifties fashion that will cover you no matter the temperature. A Gingham, high waisted bikini would look perfect teamed with some cat-eye sunglasses. Cover up with a baggy vest and denim shorts. Keep the wellies on the sidelines too to complete your seaside style.

You’ll find all these styles and so many more on the Swimwear365 website and don’t you worry – they offer a next day delivery service which is perfect if you’re jetting off in a couple of days. Happy holidays!

Our Blogger Carnival Round Up (part one)

Our Facebook friends and Twitter followers would be hard pressed not to notice that we have been featured on some great blogs over the last month. The Latedeals.co.uk team have been working with some of our favourite bloggers and asked them to share their thoughts about holidays. We have really enjoyed reading posts about where, when, why and how they have or hope to spend their precious holiday time. So here they are, for your enjoyment, the first of two “blog carnivals” of our bloggers holiday posts.

I’m so cold

It’s freezing cold” echoes across Aimee and Becky‘s blogs and you’re right ladies it is here in the UK – but it isn’t in the Red Sea, Morocco, Tenerife and other popular Winter sun destinations!

Ellen Arniston is wrapped up in a cardi with the heating on whilst pondering the long summer holidays and what her family of five need this year. Have a read, all suggestions welcome – where do you think they should head?

Dreaming of warmer Summer months

Christine over at Thinly Spread is feeling that the warmer Summer months are a very long haul from February. Something which is made only worse by her Facebook newsfeed being filled by Winter sun holiday photos of others – the latedeals.co.uk team nod in agreement to that!

Tired Mummy of Two is also giving serious thought to and planning how to spend the seven weeks of school summer holidays. Seven weeks sounds so  l o n g  doesn’t it?! We hope her daughter is feeling much better and well enough to enjoy a family holiday the time school breaks up.

In the meantime why not play the “Imaginary Holiday” game which Kate who blogs over at Wit Wit Woo explains. We wouldn’t be surprised if the idea catches on across bath times nationwide… then go see if you can find it on Latedeals.co.uk of course 😉

Holidays on the calendar

When was the last time you were spontaneous? Hmm, yes indeed Cat’s post from Yellow Days sparked a question that separated the parents from the child free in the room! We find our Find me the best late deals” tool helps more families put holiday dates on their family calendars.

Jen who writes Mum in the Madhouse talks about how holidays are all about decompressing and having fun as a family, her 2013 calendar is already holiday packed.

On the other hand Mirka from All Baby Advice has space on her calendar for some holidays dates so she can create some more of the beautiful beach photos she took and has shared of previous holidays.

Muslim Mummy and Attachment Mummy are also hankering after a proper holiday luckily we have many great discounts to Egypt and other Red Sea resorts which are on the wish list.

Family holidays

Mama Syder has four children and knows more than a thing or two about holidays on a budget, her tips are a must read for anyone with a larger family.

The Mummy Blogger has her last year of low season holiday opportunities before her daughter starts school in September. The envy of parents across the land, Charlotte is looking for a March getaway. We have some great deals in leaving in March and beyond, including this gem of a deal to Tunisia for only £293 per person, saving 49% leaving from Manchester on 6th March for a seven night all inclusive stay at the 5* Riu Imperial Marhaba Hotel in Port el Kanaoui.

Don’t forget to check back early next week as we have more great reads to share in the second part of the Latedeals.co.uk bloggers holiday carnival. If you write a blog and would like to work with latedeals.co.uk please do get in touch, we’d love to hear from you. A Post Office Holiday Money Report has named Mexico as the world’s holiday hotspot for the second year running as sales of pesos rose by a third in 2012 and over 200 per cent in five years.

Research shows that growing numbers of bargain-hunting holidaymakers are choosing destinations where sterling is strong, resort prices are low and more flight routes have kept travel costs down – Mexico ticks all three of these boxes!

But Mexico is much more than great value for money – it’s a large and diverse country that offers something of everyone…

  • BEACHES: Mexico’s beaches are among the best in the world and combined with the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico they make for the perfect laid back getaway for sun-seekers. Cancun is Mexico’s most famous beach location, and it’s hard to beat for nightlife, shopping and activities, while managing to cater for families too.
  • FOOD: Mexico’s cuisine is famous the world over but it’s not all about tacos, chilli and fajitas. In coastal regions, local seafood dishes are fresh and tasty, such as snapper Veracruz style – a whole snapper prepared with chillies, olives and tomatoes. Alternatively, inland cities such as Puebla offer many different types of mole, a sauce made with toasted chillies and chocolate!
  • CULTURE: For a spot of culture Mexico has much to offer too, from world-famous artists to the history of the Mayans, including the ruins of Chichen Itza, and stunning stone pyramids that used to house Mexico’s earliest residents.

So, what are you waiting for? Latedeals.co.uk has the following fantastic offers:

  • Departing on 19 April, enjoy 7 nights all-inclusive at the Catalonia, Riviera Maya, for £869 (saving 16%)
  • 7 nights at the 5* Sensatori Resort, Riviera Maya, £1659 with Thomson – departing 27th March from Gatwick
  • or the Riu Caribe in Cancun 4* Thomson Platinum Hotel from Gatwick 14nts, all-inclusive £1349 – offering a 23% discount

So if you’re looking for beautiful beaches on a good value holiday and much more, Mexico could well be the destination for you in 2013, just make sure you leave room in your suitcase to fit in the obligatory sombrero on the journey back!

Looking For Romance This Valentine’s?

We love social media, it means we can share some great things with you, but according to our latest poll:

  • Social media is killing the holiday romance
  • The average holiday romance only lasts two months and five days
  • One in 1000 holiday romances result in marriage
  • 64% of ‘couples’ who meet on holiday never get together again

The average length of a holiday romance is falling and social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook are at fault, according to a survey we did quizzing 2000 people in the UK.View Deal
