It’s an event that sends shivers down many women’s spines but it has been widely accepted as part of life and crucial to the age-old process of male bonding. From partying till you drop in Majorca to relaxing with a Rioja on the Italian Riviera, we’ve listed some of our favourite lads’ holiday hotspots.
Party hard in Majorca
Majorca offers the perfect Mediterranean escape, with its beautiful sandy beaches and crystal clear waters…by day. Then by night it comes alive! Magaluf has the classic ingredients for a lad’s holiday if you want to party hard, plus it’s great value. There’s still plenty happening in September with temperatures remaining in the mid-twenties. The resort is crammed with cafes and clubs open 24/7 attracting the likes of Chipmunk and Tinchy Stryder, so if you’ve got the stamina to dance until your drop after basking in the sun and soaking up the rays all day, it’s the perfect party getaway.
Pick up a week’s bargain in Majorca for £279pp, flying from London Gatwick on 30th September and staying on a self catering basis at the Trh Palma Nova in Palma Nova.
Gumbet, a beachside gem
Located on the south west coast of Turkey, Gumbet offers an enticing mix of sun, sea, sand and lively nightlife. Not quite as full-on as Magaluf but in recent times, the resort has been labelled the new “frontier for lads’ holidays”. The hot summer season runs until October and prices are a dream just now. You won’t get lost finding the bars and cafes as the aptly named ‘Bar Street’ lines the beach. And it’s also a stunning place to be – set amongst lush green scenery, with rolling hills and deep valleys in the background.
Enjoy a seven night self catering break at the Agar Apartments in Gumbet for only £194. Flights depart from London Gatwick on 7th October.
The Algarve, a golfer’s paradise
If a more relaxing break is on the bill then the Algarve has it all – luxury resorts, award-winning golf courses and a fantastic climate. A holiday favourite with both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lenny Kravitz, you can spend a couple of days chilling on the beach before getting down to some serious extreme sports like kite surfing, rock climbing and wakeboarding. And there’s the small detail of 40 golf courses, set in some of the region’s most stunning scenery, making it a golfer’s paradise and one of the world’s best golfing destinations.
There’s a saving of 45% on a seven night self catering break at theDunas Do Alvor in Alvor – only £257pp, flying from Stansted on 13th October.
Smoking hot Cuba
It’s a tad pricier, but Cuba is a dream vacation offering a delicious cocktail of scorching weather, brilliant beaches, mouth-watering food, rum on tap, all day partying, hypnotic Latin rhythms, classic car spotting and the Havana cigar factory! The list goes on. But with a pace of life a notch below laidback, it’s a trip to be savoured and well worth the cash if you have it, enjoyed by the likes of Jay-Z and English actor, Clive Owen.
For £784pp, you can chill out for a week, and enjoy a saving of 21% staying all inclusive at the Blau Costa Verde Beach Resort in Guardalavaca. Flights are from London Gatwick on 10th October.
Charming Italy
Okay, there is a Grand Prix there in September which is a big plus for Formula 1 enthusiasts, and the country has some great golf courses, but Italy is becoming a more popular haunt for the more discerning groups of lads who want something a little different for their male bonding trips. Fabulous food and wine combined with breathtaking scenery and a rich cultural heritage gives a more alternative ‘lads’ experience and one to relish.
Relax for week in Sorrento for £373pp, including a 24% saving, bed & breakfast at the Hotel Girasole and return flights from London Gatwick on 4th October.
Nicola Defty, Commercial Manager at Latedeals.co.uk said: “There’s no set formula for a lad’s holiday but the one thing it does need to offer is the chance for men to spend some quality time together. It’s also the type of break that’s not necessarily planned well in advance but can often be a spur of the moment decision, or dictated by circumstances. On average, Latedeals.co.uk has anything between 200,000 to 400,000 deals departing within eight weeks at any given time. We’re constantly updating the offers so there’s a huge choice of holidays to suit all tastes and ages, at a wide variety of price points so it’s worthwhile hanging on and booking late to snap up a bargain perfect for all the lads!”
