Playa de las Americas is the party capital of Tenerife with many tourists staying here and its neighbouring resort Los Christianos. It is the largest tourist development on the island. The beaches are perfect for sunbathing and offer a wide range of water sports for the more adventurous. A promenade runs the length of the resort offering plenty of entertainment to keep you busy during your stay on the island from its open air bars and restaurants to karaoke bars and discos.
The north of the island is a lush tropical paradise with palm trees and banana plantations. Although cooler in temperature than the south it is still popular with tourists. The main resort of Puerto de la Cruz has an amazing stretch of beach backed by verdant gardens full of tropical plants. The picturesque tree lined streets and colonial buildings make this resort popular with street performers creating a special atmosphere while dining in the evening.
Self catering accommodation is popular in the north of the island due to its many superb restaurants where you will be spoilt for choice. If self catering is not your preference there are a number of luxury hotels to cater for your every need while on holiday here.
