There is plenty of culture to be found on holidays to Korcula in the Medieval styled villages with ancient churches and palaces, fantastic art galleries and fascinating stonework, all topped by a visit to the birthplace of the intrepid explorer, Marco Polo. Korcula Town itself is a fascinating walled village sitting on a tiny peninsula and is affectionately known as "Little Dubrovnik" due to its narrow cobbled streets, traditional coloured houses and ancient architecture.

The 15th C Cathedral of St. Marco was built by the same people who also created some of the fascinating architecture of Venice and Dubrovnik and houses the incredible artwork; "Lady of the Land" which locals believed helped protect Korcula during the Turkish invasion. Little boats will take you around the island, stopping off at secluded bays for some relaxing sunbathing or a spot of swimming and snorkelling, with the island of Vrnik being extremely popular especially with the locals.

Hop over to the mainland and visit the magical city of Dubrovnik; a UNESCO World Heritage site, and wonderful mass of colourful rooftops, interesting architecture and fascinating museums. The beautiful island of Mijet has an amazing National Park that is definitely worth seeing. Korcula holidays are extremely popular with keen walkers and hikers with many trails leading through the lush green countryside, stopping off at the pretty spots of Banja, Kneze, Orebis and Zrnovska.
