Mackenzie Beach is another popular beach close to Larnaca and is a great choice with families due to its calm waters. It has plenty of water sports, and diving is also available at the Zenobia shipwreck, the number one dive site in Cyprus. And, with its close proximity to Larnaca Airport, this beach is an ideal spot for plane spotting.

Places to Visit

The ancient city of Kourion
The ancient seaside city of Kourion is around a 15-minute drive from Protaras and has over a 1,000 years of history to soak up. The Greco-Roman amphitheatre, built way back in the 2nd century has been restored to its former glory and now hosts many plays and concerts throughout the year.

Limassol Castle
Dating back to the Medieval Period, Limassol Castle stands majestically in the centre of the city. Built during the Ottoman rule, this mighty castle is now home to some amazing relics, including, ancient pottery and suits of armour.

Troodos Mountains
The journey into the Troodos Mountains is spectacular with some of the best views in Cyprus. As you weave around the mountainside, you’ll pass through enchanting Cypriot villages where time has stood still. The UNESCO World Heritage Site Kykkos Monastery is also located in the Troodos Mountains and is the largest and most famous monastery on the island, renowned for its many gold icons and well-preserved frescoes.
