An old backpacking favourite

Dahab translates as 'gold' in Arabic and never has a name suited a place more. When the terracotta hues of the nearby Red Sea Mountains and the long golden sands of Dahab's stunning coastline are bathed in the blazing Egyptian sun, the whole region glows like a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Speaking of rainbows, the underwater scene on Dahab holidays is pretty special too with a wealth of life and colour and some of the greatest reefs in the world waiting just below the surface. Scuba divers come from all over the world to explore the unspoilt reefs, but for those less adventurous or for younger family members, snorkelling can still offer a wonderful glimpse of the stunning sea life in this area. Experienced divers head straight for the 'Blue Hole', although this has not been given the nickname 'Divers Cemetery' for nothing!

Places to Visit

Ras Mohammed National Park

Located at the southern tip of the Sinai, this area boasts some of the best dive conditions in the world. Warm unpolluted waters are home to some of the finest corals and marine life you are ever likely to see.

Jerusalem

Even for those not particularly religious this fascinating trip will see you walking in the footsteps of Jesus, literally, to where he was crucified. Visit the Wailing Wall, Garden of Gethsemane and Mount Zion where the Last Supper was served.

Stargazing

Trek to a Bedouin camp by camel where you'll be fed and entertained before heading further into the desert for a spot of stargazing. Huge telescopes point skywards and your expert astronomers will point out constellations, planets and shooting stars!

See bible stories come to life

Water sports enthusiasts enjoy the picturesque natural lagoons in this area too where windsurfing is a popular pastime due to the calm waters and reliable breeze. Back on dry land head to the old Bedouin quarter where life appears to step back in time. Relax with a hibiscus tea or try a shisha pipe with fruity flavours to suit every palette.

Enjoy a meal at a water side restaurant, soaking up the atmosphere and enjoying views over the Gulf of Aqaba to Saudi Arabia, particularly beautiful as the sun begins to set, turning the world a warm and vibrant shade of red.

All inclusive holidays to Dahab will see your every need catered for, however don't let this stop you from exploring and experiencing this region to the fullest.

Enjoy camel rides, jeep safaris and star gazing in the desert. Day trips to Mount Sinai and St Catherine's Monastery bring bible stories to life and longer excursions to Luxor and the Pyramids at Cairo offer historical artefacts, temples and monuments that simply have to be seen to be believed.

The whole family can enjoy holidays in Dahab and they are available to book here online at Latedeals.co.uk today.
