Samaria Gorge

– The Samaria gorge is said to be the longest in Europe an area of stunning natural beauty. The mountains that have formed it are wild, high and steep. In 1962, Samaria Gorge was declared a National Park for the survival of the endangered species kri kri, the rare Cretan wild goat that lives only in Samaria. Apart from kri kri, many other rare species of flora and fauna live in this gorge.
