Just a short fifty minute drive from Preveza airport, you’ll soon be down at the harbour drinking ouzo with the locals. The town itself is home to a selection of seafront bars and tavernas offering a variety of local delicacies, the most popular being the fresh seafood. Nightlife is relatively low key in the town, often you will find live music in the bars, perfect for a relaxing evening after your meal. There are a couple of discos further round towards the harbour for those who perhaps want to have a dance!
If you enjoy exploring, take a stroll around the Venetian castle in the centre of the resort and have a look at the small souvenir shops in the quaint cobbled street of the old town. Full of history, the town was destroyed by the Romans in 168 BC.

If sunbathing is your thing, this area has many stunning beaches. Valtos is the most popular and can get busy in the summer. With its gorgeous sands and crystal clear waters, it’s ideal for snorkelling and water skiing too. If you want a little more privacy, there are many beaches around the coastline which are only accessible by boat. Take a water taxi to the secluded coves or one of the small islands off the mainland, you’ll feel like Shirley Valentine! If you enjoy boat trips, you can take a trip to the neighbouring islands like Corfu or Lefkas. Holidays in Parga are also popular with Italian holidaymakers because of the busy ferry links between the two countries.
Hiring a car is great way to explore the area, you’ll stumble upon traditional villages and see the way the locals live. Drive through the mountains and you will see much of the local wildlife (the area is famous for the birds which take up residence here) and take in the view of the town. Marvel at the white washed houses rising up from the harbour, it looks like a picture postcard. An ideal photo opportunity! Holidays to Parga are available through Latedeals.co.uk.
Top Places To Visit
Venetian Castle
Perched on a hill overlooking the town and the harbour, the castle built in the 11th century was used to protect the town from both pirates and Turks attacking from the mainland and the sea. A visit just for the views alone is well worth the trip.
Valtos Beach
Valtos Beach is very well organized with a wide range of watersports such as water skiing, jet skiing, wind surfing, diving, scuba diving and paragliding. Stretching over 3 kilometers so if its extreme sports or just chilling under a parasol there is plenty of room for everyone
