You’ll find a good selection of restaurants and seaside pubs nearby where you can stop off for snacks, lunch or some cooling drinks. There are also several shops around the beach area and town centre where you can buy essentials such as bottled mineral water and browse for souvenirs.
If you want a change of scenery you can always take a trip to neighbouring Mellieha Bay which is just a 15-minute bus ride away from Bugibba. It has the biggest stretch of sandy beach in Malta and calm water that’s perfect for paddling and swimming.

Take the kids on fun days out

One option is to take them on a sightseeing tour of Bugibba on the brightly coloured Malta Fun Train. The 30-minute ride is just right for keeping the attention of lively little ones. It’s a good trip for the adults too as it has a live commentary so you’ll know what you’re looking at.
You can also go to neighbouring Qawra, which is just a 15-minute walk away, or five minutes by bus. Here you can look around the Classic Car Collection Museum, with an incredible selection of cars. You can get a close look at classic motors including a 1956 Ford Thunderbird and a beautiful 1957 Austin Healey.
Or to spot some luxury boats, head to the vibrant harbour area of Sliema which is filled with sleek yachts. Only a 20-minute bus ride away, this picturesque town is well worth the journey.
