Tasty Treats

Saly’s French influence features heavily in the delicious delicacies you will find throughout the resort and the main streets packed with French restaurants and patisseries.

Unsurprisingly, being a coastal town, seafood features heavily on the menu in Saly. The national dish Thiéboudienne, sometimes called Poisson au Riz – is a must try! It is a one-pot meal made with fish, vegetables, rice and a mixture of African spices.

Wild Watersports and Wilder Animals

Though Saly’s beach has a calming atmosphere, it’s a popular place for an adrenaline rush by taking part in some wet and wild watersports! You can take part in everything from wind surfing to jet skiing, deep-sea fishing to canoeing – and everything can be booked with ease at one of the many beach huts.

Just a short drive from Saly you will find the Somone Lagoon Reserve where you can climb aboard a boat to see some exotic birds. If on-land safaris are more your style, why not visit Bandia Wildlife Reserve where you will be in with the chance of seeing must-see African animals including rhinos, giraffes and crocodiles.

Blissful Beach

Saly’s quiet stretch of sand makes it the perfect place to sunbathe the day away. There’s a wide range of eateries within a short walk, thanks to the beachfront hotels – so you can always find the best spot to sip a colourful cocktail or enjoy a light snack in the shade from the sunshine.

Saly’s beach rarely gets too crowded, so you’ll be able to enjoy a spacious section of beach all to yourself.
