With temperatures reaching 30c in July and August, the Costa del Sols southern location means that temperatures stay warm during the winter months, making holidays in the Costa del Sol a year round destination.
With over 100 miles of coastline, water sports are in abundance, and with 11 marinas along the coastline, you can always book scuba diving or water skiing lessons, or simply take yourself off snorkelling. To the north of the region you can visit authentic Andalucian villages like Nerja, or slightly inland, the village of Frigiliana, with its fertile climate encouraging the sweet smelling olive, mango, almond, figs, avacoados and grapes to grow in abundance.
The lively Torremolinos offers sandy beaches and vibrant nightlife, linked by the affluent marina with its neighbour Benalmadena, a town which gives the diversity of family fun and evening entertainment. Further south brings you to the cosmopolitan resorts of Marbella and Puerto Banus, both bustling with designer shops, street cafes, trendy bars and gourmet restaurants. Relax by the marina in Puerto Banus amid the multi million pound yachts and watch the world go by. For a taste of culture, a visit to the capital of Malaga is a must, home to the Picasso Museum, stunning art galleries, impressive Cathedral, hilltop Castle and Alcazabar fort.
