La Pineda beaches

The biggest reason for the ever-increasing numbers of people travelling to La Pineda and nearby destinations on Costa Dorada holidays such as Salou is that this region is ideal for bucket and spade holidays. There are excellent beaches all along the southern coast of Spain, and La Pineda definitely delivers the goods. Three kilometres of unbroken sands line the town’s edge but there are two distinct areas – Playa Pineda and Playa del Raco. Playa Pineda is the town’s main beach and where you’ll find all the beachside bars and restaurants. When the beach becomes Playa del Raco it gets wider and slopes gently into the water, making it the perfect spot for swimming.

Its own waterpark

There can’t be many places in the world with a waterpark sitting casually on the main street, but La Pineda is one of these places. This means that when you need to cool down you can up the excitement by heading for the big slides of the waterpark Aquopolis rather than causally bobbing around in the Mediterranean Sea.

For cheap holidays to Costa Dorada with plenty of value for money, you can’t go wrong here.

PortAventura World

With a waterpark in the resort itself and Spain’s biggest theme park practically next door – this really is a fun-filled area of Spain for you to take your holiday. PortAventuraWorld holidays are one of the big reasons families enjoy the Costa Dorada so much and it’s one of the places that make this area special.

The theme park itself is divided into five areas based on civilisations of the world – Mediterrania, Far West, Mexico, China and Polynesia. Then there’s a Sesame Street area and an area dedicated to all things Ferrari: Ferrari Land. Across the various areas of the park are a range of attractions from white-knuckle rides to small shopping outlets.

Nearby Salou

Salou is home to no a number of Blue Flag beaches that vary from rocky coves to pristine sands, so if you fancy adding some variety to your beachside experiences then it’s well worth a visit.

There are some beautiful monuments in Salou such as the ‘Monument to Jaume I’ and the ‘Monument to Fishermen’, both attractive structures adding to the charming sense of history that fills the area. If you’re looking to shop during your holiday then there are lots of retail options here, from designer boutiques to the traditional market that runs on Sunday Morning and all of Monday. You’ll also find a large number of restaurants and bars in Salou.

Nightlife

La Pineda doesn’t try to hide the fact that it’s a small and quiet place where you can relax, get a good night’s sleep and not get too crazy during your stay. However, it does have a joker up its sleeve – Pacha La Pineda. The Pacha group of nightclubs were started in Ibiza and are now legendary around the world. The Pacha La Pineda is a huge nightclub with a main dance floor capacity of 3000. So if you want to break the tranquillity of your La Pineda holiday in a big but fun way, then that option is well taken care of.
