Salou holidays are one of the most popular family choices on the Costa Dorada. Its long golden sandy beaches, edged by a tree lined promenade, exciting nightlife and superb facilities keep holidaymakers coming back year after year.
The blue flag sands with small coves offer the ideal chance to laze the days away, with calm blue waters ideal for small children. Water sports are a firm favourite with water skiing and banana boats topping the list or if you don't want to get your feet wet, take a leisurely boat ride from the nearby marina.
As tempting as it may be to lie on the beach all day, there is so much to do on your holidays in Salou that you won't be able to. The Ferris Wheel on the seafront funfair dominates the skyline, but if its real thrills you are looking for then a trip to Port Aventura is an absolute must. One of the best theme parks in Spain and based on Busch Gardens in Florida, you'll probably need more than one visit just to get round everything. From small children's rides to the white knuckle Dragon Khan Roller-coaster, it really is a fun filled day out for all the family.
Aquapolis Water Park in nearby La Pineda also offers a wonderful family day out with rides, slides and pools for all ages. Shopping in Salou is mainly for tourists but a visit to nearby Tarragona will combine fascinating roman ruins, authentic Spanish shops, and fine restaurants so it's well worth a visit by day or night.
