The Matoula Beach Hotel is a great springboard for exploring Ialyssos. It’s on the outskirts of the village, just a few minutes’ walk from the beach, and it comes with a lovely pool area, plus a bar-come-restaurant.
Location-wise, the hotel is just a couple of minutes’ walk from a wide stretch of sand. It’s on the edge of Ialyssos – walk along the shore for half an hour and you’ll reach the village centre.

Pools
There’s a keyhole-shaped pool, with a corner sectioned off especially for little ones. It’s set in a well-tended grassy area that’s flecked with palm trees and shrubs. A poolside bar keeps you going with drinks and snacks.
Food & Drink
The main restaurant lays out international buffets for breakfast and dinner. The poolside bar, meanwhile, becomes an à la carte restaurant in the evening. It specialises in Mediterranean dishes.
Entertainment
The bar by the pool does a great line in after-dinner cocktails.
Sports & Activities
You’ll find a pool table here, and there’s a playground for children to clamber on.

The swimming pool at this hotel is surrounded by greenery. It’s got a section for children, and a neighbouring bar that serves daytime drinks and snacks.
