Newcastle International Airport is the 10th busiest airport in the UK with over 4 million passengers passing through its doors.
Newcastle International Airport started as an Aero Club in an airfield in Cramlington. In 1930 Newcastle International Airport moved sites to Woolsington and in 1935 Newcastle Airport was born. From 1960 major development took place and a new terminal was constructed due to the increase in sunshine holidays. In 2004 the Departure Terminal was expanded and refurbished in 2007. From this day the airport goes from strength to strength.
Newcastle International Airport is easy to reach by car from the A1, A66 or the A74. There is a regular bus service running to and from Newcastle City Centre and surrounding areas. The nearest train station is Newcastle Central Station and from here you can connect to the airport by the metro service.
