A tropical adventure awaits

Costa Rica is one of the continental divides between Central America and South America. Being the bridge between the two means there’s influences from both, but the country is very different to those who surround it in quite a few ways.

Costa Ricans – or Ticos as they are more fondly called – are famed for their good nature and overall friendliness. A common phrase used in Costa Rica is ‘Pura Vida’ which translates to ‘pure life’, this term is used as a pleasant way of saying ‘all good’, ‘enjoy life’ or is even used as a greeting.

Turtle hatching on the beach is one of the amazing sights to see in Costa Rica. There are many tours set up so guides can take you to the turtle hotspots – it might be a long night but it’s worth it when you see the baby turtles no bigger than the size of your hand rushing towards the sea.

There are five active volcanoes waiting to be hiked up and marvelled at across the country. The 5,437ft high Arenal volcano is the one closest to you. If trekking isn’t you thing, you can appreciate the view whilst bathing in the volcano-heated hot springs that surround the bottom of Arenal.

For a bird’s-eye view of the beautiful parks that fill Costa Rica, Sky trek will take you on a different kind of exploration. Start by riding an open-air gondola from the ground to an observation deck up in the trees, then you zipline your way over canyons and between tree tops, making your way down the mountainside whilst gliding through the rainforest.
