Peace, quiet and paragliding

Ovacik holidays will find you on the south-west coast of Turkey. Backed by the lush Babadag Mountains, the village offers visitors a traditional holiday in natural surroundings. The meaning of Ovacik is “Little Plain”.

You can still see the remains of the houses to this day with cows grazing on the land. The town of Fethiye is a bustling harbour town only 30 minutes away from Ovacik by local bus (dolmus). Take a trip to try your hand at haggling in the bazaar and sample the fresh fish caught that day in one of the many harbour front restaurants.

A small area neighbouring Hisaronu, The mood here is genuinely low-key

The famous Blue Lagoon of Olu Deniz with its stunning crystal clear waters is down in the valley below Ovacik. Again, take a dolmus which will take 8-9 minutes. The area is a national park and there is a small charge to take you into the Lagoon where you can enjoy fishing and feel the peace and quiet here.

The main beach is busier, with the usual watersports, and the sea is almost transparent. There are many exclusive bars and restaurants along the sea front where you can sit with a cocktail and watch the world go by. If you are feeling daring, paragliding is the most popular sport in this region and when you look up, you will often see in excess of 30 parachutes in the sky at one time. Places to Visit

Butterfly Valley

– The easiest way to reach the sweeping beach is by boat from Fethiye or Olu Deniz but for visitors who are feeling energetic there is a rocky path down to the beach from the road which takes about an hour to walk each way. Butterfly Valley beach which lies between two towering cliffs is absolutely stunning.

Blue Lagoon Olu Deniz

– The Blue Lagoon of Olu Deniz has calm Crystal waters which makes it ideal for a variety of water sports and a very safe place for both adults and children to swim.
